The twin towns of Forster - Tuncurry are part of the Great Lakes District, situated where Wallis meets the ocean.
There are plenty of options for surfing and swimming at the fantastic beaches or fishing in the lakes and rivers.
The area is surounded by National Parks and State Forests. The area has much to offer the visitor, and one can hire a boat and scamper around the lakes, fishing, diving and even watch for whales and dolphins. The latter can often be seen surfing the waves behind the incoming boats right in the causeway leading into the lakes just metres from the safe family beach areas.
